About Us
Founded in 2019 and based in Jaipur, SUURASA was born from a vision to bring the rich diversity of Indian crafts under one roof. Our founder, Surya Dev Pareek, set out with a deep passion for handmade traditions, beginning with the intricate art of block printing. This was the first craft category we chose to explore, and it became the foundation for our journey.
The name SUURASA carries special meaning. "SUU" comes from Surya, meaning "yours," and "RASA" means "aesthetic" or "essence." Together, they symbolize our mission—to share the essence and beauty of Indian handmade crafts with the world, and most importantly, with you.
At SUURASA, we carefully research, discover, and celebrate the timeless art forms of India, working closely with artisans who bring these traditional techniques to life. As we move forward, we aim to expand our offerings to include more crafts such as weaving and knitting, and introduce sustainable materials like khadi, which is currently in development.
We invite you to be part of this journey—one that celebrates the artistry, culture, and heritage of India in every stitch. Join us as we continue to explore and share these beautiful, intricate crafts with the world.
